Matty Singleton Takes Gold at U23's
Singleton put together a dominant run at the U23 Freestyle Nationals, storming into the finals at 79 kg with a series of commanding performances. Singleton recorded tech falls in six of his seven victories, including semifinal wins over Tyler Lillard and Collin Carrigan, while outscoring opponents by a combined 77-7 margin throughout the tournament. He capped off an impressive weekend with two wins over Daschle Lamer in the championship best of three finals series to earn the U23 National title.
Trumble Finishes 2nd at The World Team Trials
Isaac reached the championship match against Mason Parris, where he was involved in a wild, back-and-forth final that included multiple momentum swings and a controversial sequence ( It was for sure a pin if you ask us) that was later challenged and overturned. Despite falling just short in a 14–11 thriller, Trumble’s performance proves he will be a force at 125KG.

Lewistown, Pa. native and NC State wrestling alumnus Trent Hidlay made history at the Senior World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, capturing gold at 92 kg in his first appearance at the tournament. Entering as the No. 8 seed, Hidlay outscored his opponents 42–6 en route to the title, securing three technical falls and completing a dramatic comeback from an eight-point deficit in the finals against Amanula Gadzhimagomedov. The Wolfpack standout became NC State’s first-ever world champion and the first ACC wrestler to claim a world title since 1998.
Howle & Denny Take 3rd at U20 World Team Trials
The Wolfpack RTC had a strong presence at the 2026 U.S. Open in Las Vegas, with current athletes and alumni competing across Senior Men’s Freestyle and U20 divisions. The group delivered multiple top finishes, deep bracket runs, and continued momentum on the national and international stage.

🥇Will Denny Secures Gold for Team USA at U20 Pan Ams
Manhattan, Illinois native and incoming freshman at NC State, Will Denny delivered a stellar performance at the U20 Pan American Wrestling Championships in Lima, Peru. Representing Team USA at 74 kg in men’s freestyle, he triumphed in all three of his matches—recording one pin and two technical falls, including an 11–0 shutout in the final against El Salvador’s Kevin Aleman Gomez
Grit & Growth at the World Team Trials
Three Wolfpack RTC athletes—Ed Scott (74 kg), Jackson Arrington (70 kg), and Christian Knop (97 kg)—competed at the 2025 Senior World Team Trials Challenge in Louisville, KY. Scott reached the consolation semifinals with two strong wins. Arrington battled through a tough 70 kg bracket, narrowly dropping his consolation match. Knop faced two gritty bouts at 97 kg but came up short. While none advanced to Final X, all three gained valuable experience against top-tier competition.

Trent Hidlay captured the 92kg freestyle gold medal at the 2025 Pan American Championships in Monterrey, Mexico, dominating the field with powerful offense and relentless pressure. Hidlay’s performance continues to prove he's one of the top contenders on the international stage.
This victory is a testament not only to Trent’s hard work but also to the leadership of Coach Jamill Kelly, whose Olympic-level experience and technical mentorship have been instrumental in Hidlay’s development.

In U20 action, Gavin Linsman and Latrell Schafer each picked up multiple dominant wins, showing the depth of young talent rising through the program.
